James E. Hereford, DDS

SONY DSCDr. James (Jim) Hereford graduated with his DDS from the University of Oklahoma in 1980. He completed his undergraduate studies at Northeastern State University, double-majoring in chemistry and zoology. He has been practicing in Collinsville for 32 years and continues to attend continuing education meetings each year in order to provide the high-quality, exceptional dentistry that he is known for.

Dr. Hereford is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Oklahoma Dental Association (ODA), and the Tulsa County Dental Society. He also has additional training in orthodontic straight-wire technique. As a dentist, Dr. Hereford’s goal is to practice with diligence, patience, and perfection and to utilize his skills and experience to provide you with a painless dental experience. He and the rest of his team have created a contagiously friendly atmosphere that is founded on respect and trust. His favorite part about being a dentist has been establishing long-standing and trustworthy relationships with his patients over the years.

When he is not working to help you improve your smile and oral health, Dr. Hereford enjoys spending time with his wife, Chera, their three kids, and their dog. Some of his hobbies include golfing, bicycling, and playing the guitar. Since visiting Uganda on a mission trip in 1989, Uganda and its culture has also become a big part of Dr. Hereford’s life and work. Meet Our Team

Chera Hereford, RDH/Office Manager

SONY DSCChera began working as a front desk assistant in 1994 and, after a hiatus to attend hygiene school, returned to our office as a part-time registered dental hygienist in 1997. She took on the responsibilities of office manager in 2009. She sincerely loves our patients and providing care to help them maintain healthy mouths. By giving our patients the information and tools they need to clean and keep their teeth, Chera truly makes a difference in our office. She treats everyone with compassion, kindness, and respect. Chera is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), the Oklahoma Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA), and the Tulsa County Dental Hygienists’ Society (TCDHS). From 2011-2012, she was also the president of the ODHA.

Chera graduated from Tulsa Community College in 1997, where she received a leadership award and was the class president. She and her husband, Dr. Jim Hereford, have been married for 19 years and have three children and one dog. Though work keeps her busy, Chera enjoys finding the time to cook, garden, and read. Her favorite activity is spending time with family and friends.

Lisa Miller, Receptionist

SONY DSCLisa joined Africa on Main in 2012 and is grateful to the wonderful staff members who have made her feel right at home. As our receptionist, Lisa is often the first person to greet our patients and the last person to say goodbye. Her friendly manner and care instantly make our patients feel right at home in the office.

Lisa and her husband have three kids and they like to go to the lake as a family when they can. Some of her other hobbies include riding her horses and watching her kids play their sports!

Brook Gatzemeyer, RDH

SONY DSCBrook joined our team in 2007 and has been providing gentle, quality care to our patients ever since. She does her best to treat patients the way that she would like to be treated and loves being a part of a laidback but still professional and caring dental team. Prior to working at Africa on Main, Brook graduated from Tulsa Community College’s dental hygiene program. When not at work, Brook enjoys reading, Zumba, and spending time with her family, which consists of her husband Scott, son Gavin, and daughter Aubrey.

Melinda Delewski, RDH

SONY DSCMelinda is the newest member of the team at Africa on Main and brings with her nearly 30 years of experience in dentistry. She is committed to improving the oral health of her patients and enjoys being a part of a professional yet upbeat and fun staff. Every person treated by Melinda receives the same high-quality care that she would provide to her family members, so you know that you are always in good hands with her.

Melinda graduated from Tulsa Community College with an Associate’s degree in dental hygiene in 1994. She and her husband Mark have been married for 21 years and are the proud parents of three sons.

Gayle Ann Cantrell, Dental Assistant

SONY DSCGayle Ann has long provided high-quality care to our patients. She has worked at Africa on Main since 2000 and enjoys providing our patients with care, respect, friendship, and compassion. She feels that the most rewarding part of working for Dr. Hereford is helping patients get over their dental fears in our very relaxed atmosphere. In addition, Gayle Ann finds a lot of joy in caring for our elderly patients and the children that visit the office.

Gayle Ann received her dental assisting training at Tulsa Technology Center, where she graduated in 1996. She has been married to her husband Brad since 1998 and together they have two daughters. When she does have a moment to spare, Gayle Ann enjoys running and spending time at the lake.

Sha Swim, Dental Assistant

SONY DSCOne of the newest members of our team, Sha began working at Africa on Main in August 2012. Her compassionate care and friendly, gentle attitude make her a wonderful addition to our office. Sha enjoys working with the rest of our caring team and having the opportunity to help every patient get their smile back.

Sha has always wanted to work in the medical field because she has a strong desire to help people and make a difference in their lives. She feels that working in the dental field is the right choice for her. She is a 2002 honors graduate in dental assisting from Platt College. She is married to Mark Swim and they have four children together. When she is not busy helping to improve your smile, she loves going to the lake. Soccer is one of her favorite pastimes; she has played soccer since she was five years old and currently plays soccer on both a women’s and a co-ed team, both indoor and outdoor.
